New Healthcare Facilities at AIIA Goa
Professor (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director of AIIA Goa, announced the inauguration of new healthcare units, including an Integrated Oncology Unit, Central Sterile Supply Department, Linen Processing Unit, and Blood Bank. These facilities aim to strengthen collaboration between traditional Ayurvedic practices and modern medicine, benefiting both local and international patients.

Ayurveda: A Global Movement
Prof. Prajapati called on citizens, healthcare professionals, researchers, students, and policymakers to actively engage in Ayurveda as a national movement. He emphasized blending ancient knowledge with contemporary research to expand Ayurveda’s global footprint. The 10th Ayurveda Day, he said, honors the legacy of Lord Dhanvantari and symbolizes a step towards a healthier, balanced, and sustainable future.
Decade-Long Journey of Ayurveda
Dean of AIIA Goa, Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Kadam, highlighted the institute’s decade-long contribution to health, balance, and global recognition. She noted that AIIA Goa’s 250-bed hospital operates 22 outpatient services daily, catering to more than 800 patients, including international visitors. The institute has emerged as a leading center for Ayurvedic education, research, and patient care.
Promoting Health Tourism and Research
Established in 2022 by the Prime Minister, AIIA Goa serves as the nodal agency for national celebrations of Ayurveda Day. The institute is actively promoting Medical Value Travel and Health Tourism in collaboration with the Goa Tourism Department, further positioning India as a global hub for integrative healthcare.

The press conference included participation from Dr. Uttam Desai, CMO-SFWB, Goa; Dr. Minal Joshi, Deputy Director Ayush, Government of Goa; and Shri Sidhartha Jha, PRO AIIA Delhi. Shri Gaurav Sharma, Media Officer from PIB Delhi, moderated the event. The interactive session allowed media representatives to pose questions regarding Ayurveda’s evolving role in healthcare and research.
