15th Pension Adalat Resolves 815 Long-Pending Grievances

New Delhi, 26 Dec 2025: The 15th Pension Adalat, held at the Indian Institute of Public Administration under the chairpersonship of Ms Rachana Shah, Secretary DoPT, DARPG & DOPPW, successfully resolved 815 out of 1,087 long-pending pension grievances on the spot, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to ensuring timely justice and financial security for senior and family pensioners.

Scope and Participation

The Adalat addressed grievances spanning 30 Ministries and Departments including Defence, Home Affairs, Finance, Posts, Housing & Urban Affairs, and Civil Aviation. Pensioners raised complaints related to super senior and family pensions, long pending leave encashment, gratuity, GPF dues, and other retirement benefits.

Heart-Warming Success Stories

Shri Pritam Singh, Haryana: After 114 days of pending grievance regarding non-payment of GPF, leave encashment, and gratuity, Rs 68,10,192/- has been credited to his account following confirmation from BSF officials.

Shri Kewal Krishan, J&K: Facing a 150-day delay in family pension after his wife’s death, he received Rs 8,56,107/- in extra family pension, with total arrears of Rs 12,11,444/- processed for payment by CRPF.

Smt Khimuli Devi, Uttarakhand: Awaiting arrears of minimum extraordinary pension, her grievance spanning over 133 days was addressed. The SSB nodal officer assured the release of balance arrears and provision of a detailed calculation sheet.

Smt Sabitri Bagh, Widow of Late Shri Kshama Sil Bagh: Her grievance regarding the non-release of salary benefits and family pension due to suspension period regularization was resolved, with her service period from 11.10.2014 to 09.01.2020 regularized on 21.11.2025 by the Department of Posts.

Smt Savitri Devi Bhikaji Madaye, 84, Maharashtra: The super senior family pensioner, who had not received pension since June 2021 due to missing documents, will receive Rs 7,40,870/- in arrears. Sanction was issued to CPPC Bank of Maharashtra on 18.12.2025 after coordination with CCA MHA, PAO, and CPAO.

Jan Samvad: Commitment to Pensioners

The initiative under ‘Jan Samvad’ highlights the Government’s dedication to swift grievance redressal, ensuring dignity, timely financial support, and strengthening trust among pensioners. The Adalat mechanism demonstrates efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness in addressing long-pending issues.

By providing a platform for direct resolution and active participation of pensioners, the Pension Adalat reinforces the commitment to deliver justice and enhance financial security for retirees across the nation.
