Congress held a meeting in Delhi on Tuesday for Bihar elections. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi also participated in the meeting. 36 leaders participated in the meeting, including many from Bihar.
In the meeting, the party discussed the election strategy. The high command suggested that the party should enter the election fray by making a concrete strategy.
It was also decided in the meeting that seat sharing would be settled by mutual consent. Last time, Congress had contested the elections in alliance with RJD and Left parties. This time JDU is also included in this alliance.
After the meeting, Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Singh said that the party will contest the Bihar elections with a complete strategy. He said that we have made an action plan, which will be taken forward.
He said that seat sharing will be settled by mutual consent. Congress has made a concrete strategy for the Bihar elections. The party’s high command gave suggestions on strategy. National General Secretary KC Venugopal, Bihar in-charge Mohan Prakash, co-in-charge Ajay Kapoor along with many leaders from Bihar were also present at the meeting.
Election campaign, candidate selection and other aspects were discussed in the meeting. The high command suggested that the election campaign should be comprehensive and effective. Candidates should be selected carefully.
It was also decided in the meeting that Congress would fight the Bihar elections with a strong alliance. The alliance will include RJD, JDU and all three left parties.
After the meeting, Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Singh said that the party will contest the Bihar elections with a complete strategy. He said that we are fully prepared to win the elections.
Congress’s only success in Kishanganj
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress got only one seat in Bihar. That seat was Kishanganj. At that time, RJD, Congress, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, HAM and VIP had contested elections in alliance in Bihar. RJD got 20 seats, Congress got 9 seats, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party got 5 seats, HAM and VIP got three seats each.
This time Congress, RJD, JDU and all three Left parties will contest elections together in Bihar. This time Congress is expected to repeat its success in Kishanganj.
