PM Modi made big announcements in Varanasi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made several major announcements during his two-day visit to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. He launched and inaugurated 37 projects worth more than Rs 19,000 crore for Varanasi and Purvanchal.
Major of these projects include:
- Inauguration of Kasi Tamil Sangamam 2.0 built for Rs 133 crore at Namo Ghat in Varanasi.
- Inauguration of new train from Kanyakumari to Varanasi.
- Laying the foundation stone of the International Convention Center to be built in Varanasi for Rs 11,000 crore.
- Laying the foundation stone of the Multi-Modal Transport Hub in Varanasi to be built for Rs 1,000 crore.
- PM Modi also interacted with the beneficiaries of the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Varanasi. He said that government schemes should reach the people at the right time without any problem.
Earlier on Friday, PM Modi inaugurated the new terminal building of Surat Airport in Surat, Gujarat and also dedicated the Surat Diamond Bourse.
The new terminal building of Surat Airport has been built at a cost of ₹353 crore. This terminal building is capable of handling 1,200 passengers simultaneously. Surat Diamond Bourse is the world’s largest and most modern diamond and jewellery trading centre.
PM Modi’s visit to Varanasi and Surat is being considered important to further the pace of development.
