Punjab Congress Divided on AAP Alliance, Pushes Solo Contest in Lok Sabha Meet
The Political Affairs Committee of Punjab Congress presented its views before the party’s high command regarding Lok Sabha elections.
The Political Affairs Committee of Punjab Congress, which was divided over the alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), openly expressed its views before the party’s high command. The committee suggested contesting the Lok Sabha elections in the state on the strength of Congress.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge had called a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee in Delhi. In the meeting, the committee members openly expressed their views on the alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. The committee members said that the Congress will not benefit from an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. Instead, Congress should contest the elections on its own in the state.
Committee members said that alliance with Aam Aadmi Party will tarnish the image of Congress. Moreover, the alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party will harm the old Congress workers and leaders.
