BJP’s 2024 Lok Sabha election strategy: Avoid ‘negative publicity’, focus on Ram Mandir
After massive victories in the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is eyeing an “unprecedented majority” in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
To achieve this goal, the party made important strategies in a recent meeting. Senior party leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were present at the meeting.
Increasing vote share:
Modi called for increasing the party’s vote share by 10% from its performance in the 2019 elections when the ruling party got more than 37% of the votes.
Seat not target:
The party’s top leadership did not set any specific seat target but stressed ensuring victory which should be bigger than the 2019 performance when the BJP had won 303 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats.
Reaching new voters:
Party leaders have been advised to reach out to first-time voters.
Reaching out to women, youth, farmers and the poor:
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to reach out to women, youth, farmers and the poor, whom he often described as the four largest “castes”.
Focusing on positive actions of the government:
Senior party leaders have been advised to focus on campaigning about the positive actions of the government rather than indulging in their “negative” campaign with the opposition parties.
Pay attention to Ram Mandir:
The Pran Pratistha ceremony at the Ram temple was the highlight of the two-day deliberations as the party is confident that it will be a major issue in its favour in the elections.
BJP’s 2024 Lok Sabha election strategy is clear: increase vote share, reach out to new voters, focus on positive actions of the government and focus on Ram Mandir.
The party must be able to implement these strategies successfully if it wants to achieve an unprecedented majority in 2024.
