Darbhanga, Bihar (January 27, 2024): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said in a meeting with RJD leaders on Saturday that sports are yet to happen in Bihar. He said that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has majority figures and is capable of forming the government.
Yadav said that political instability has arisen in Bihar after the break of the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU). He said that RJD is ready to take advantage of this opportunity and form a strong government in Bihar.
Yadav said that RJD leaders should go to their respective areas and contact the public and inform them about the party’s resolutions. He said that RJD is committed to taking Bihar on the path of development.
RJD’s chances of forming a government
Yadav’s comments indicate that RJD is once again in the race to form the government in Bihar. However, it is still not clear whether RJD will be successful in achieving this goal or not.
RJD has 79 MLAs in the Bihar Assembly. Apart from this, Congress has 19 MLAs and Left parties have 12 MLAs. Collectively, these three parties have 110 MLAs, two short of the magic figure of 122 required to form the government.
If RJD succeeds in breaking the alliance of BJP and JDU, it will need only three MLAs to form the government. However, this will be a difficult task, as both BJP and JDU are a strong alliance.
Challenges for RJD
The biggest challenge for RJD is to break the alliance of BJP and JDU. For this, RJD will have to succeed in creating a rift between these two parties. Besides, the RJD will also have to garner support from other parties, such as Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM).
If RJD is successful in overcoming these challenges, it may be able to form the government once again in Bihar.
Prospects for RJD government
In case RJD forms the government, it will be a significant change in Bihar. RJD is a regional party, mainly representing the interests of the backward classes of Bihar. These sections can benefit from the formation of the RJD government.
RJD government can also focus on development. RJD has already implemented many schemes for development in Bihar. With the formation of the RJD government, these schemes can be taken forward.
