After the inauguration of Lord Ram’s mandir in India on Monday, ‘Deepotsav’ was celebrated across the country. People lit lamps, burst crackers and worshipped Lord Ram.
The inauguration of Ram Mandir was celebrated all over the country. People lit lamps in their homes, streets and mandirs. They also burst crackers and worshipped Lord Ram.
Union ministers and other politicians also celebrated ‘Deepotsav’ to mark the inauguration of Ram mandir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lit ‘Ram Jyoti’ (earthen lamp) at his residence.
Celebrations in the States:
Many people celebrated ‘Deepotsav’ on the occasion of the inauguration of Ram mandir in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In a video posted by news agency ANI, a large group of people can be seen lighting lamps on the road.
1,001 lamps were lit on the banks of Kangsabati river in Midnapore, West Bengal.
The Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishwavidya Pratisthanam (SGVP) Gurukul in Ahmedabad, Gujarat was decorated with hundreds of special lights on Monday evening to mark the inauguration of the Ram temple. Many firecrackers were also burst near the institute.
Local people in Chandigarh celebrated the historic day and the sky of Chandigarh was decorated with firecrackers.
In Kerala, ‘Ram Jyothi’ was lit at the Sri Padmanabhaswamy mandir in Thiruvananthapuram, where many people paid homage.
A large number of people lit earthen lamps in the Kota area of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.
On Monday evening, a large-scale ‘Deepotsav’ like ceremony was organized at Hari Ki Paidi in Haridwar.
Oil lamps were lit after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram mandir at the ISKCON mandir in Bengaluru.
In Bihar too, devotees celebrated ‘Deepotsav’ by lighting lamps.
Large-scale celebrations were also seen in Delhi and its neighbouring National Capital Region (NCR).
Many people in the Northeast also celebrated the consecration of Ram mandir. One lakh earthen lamps each were lit at the prestigious Kamakhya temple and Basistha mandir in Guwahati.
