13 Bihar Districts Shut Schools Up to 8th Grade as Cold Wave Intensifies

The havoc of cold continues in Bihar. The minimum temperature has fallen to 3 degrees Celsius. Children have also died due to cold.
Schools have been closed in many districts to avoid the cold. These districts include Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, West Champaran, Saran, Siwan, Vaishali, Munger, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Nalanda and Madhubani.
An order has been issued to close school education up to class 8th in Patna, Darbhanga, Siwan, Nalanda and Munger from January 13 to January 16. The remaining classes above in these districts will run from 9 am to 3:30 pm.
Orders have come to close schools in Gaya and Vaishali also till 16th January. In these two districts, orders have come to run the remaining classes from 9 am to 4 pm.
In West Champaran also, an order has been issued from January 13 to January 16. The school closure order will remain effective till class 8th. The remaining classes can be conducted from 11 am to 3 pm.
A similar order has come in the Muzaffarpur and Gopalganj districts also. The order has come in both the districts till January 16. Schools for classes 9th and above will operate from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
An order has been issued by the District Magistrate of Madhubani to close schools up to class five. There is an order to operate schools from class 6th to 8th from 10 am to 3 pm. Teachers are ordered to stay from 9 am to 5 pm.
In Saran district too, an order has come to close all the schools from class 8th to 16th. The above classes will be conducted from 10 am to 3.30 pm only.
In Samastipur also, an order has been issued to close schools up to class 8th. This ban will remain in force till January 16. Classes from ninth and above will run from 10 am to 4 pm.
DM and DEO of many districts are relaxed
DM and DEO of Madhepura, Kaimur and Rohtas districts said that no new order has been issued regarding the closure of schools.
