The ongoing dispute regarding seat distribution among the constituent parties of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra has not stopped even today. Even in the meeting held today, no concrete decision could be taken.
In the meeting, Shiv Sena demanded to contest on all 48 seats, while Congress and NCP also demanded more seats. Shiv Sena said that it was the party that won the most seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, hence it should be given more seats.
On the other hand, Congress and NCP said that they have also played an important role in the elections, hence they should also be given an appropriate number of seats.
After the meeting, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that there are still differences regarding seat sharing. He said that another meeting will be held soon, in which efforts will be made to find a solution to this issue.
It has become clear from Thackeray’s statement that no consensus has been reached yet regarding seat sharing among Maha Vikas Aghadi. In such a situation, it has to be seen whether this issue can be resolved in the coming days.
Due to a dispute regarding seat distribution
There are many reasons for the dispute regarding seat sharing in Maha Vikas Aghadi. One of these reasons is that Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP have different views regarding the number of seats. Shiv Sena is demanding to contest on all 48 seats, while Congress and NCP have also demanded more seats.
The second reason is that the dispute regarding seat sharing has been going on since the formation of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. This controversy is also affecting the functioning of the government.
It is not yet clear when the final decision regarding seat sharing will be taken. However, it is certain that without finding a solution to this issue, it will be difficult for Maha Vikas Aghadi to fight unitedly in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
