Trinamool Congress’s reaction
Kolkata: Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy said that Nitish Kumar is known for changing sides at regular intervals. He said it is unfortunate that he has decided to leave the opposition ‘India’ alliance and is likely to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Roy said that the public will give a befitting reply to such political opportunism.
Roy said Nitish Kumar had also decided to break away from the BJP in 2013 and formed an alliance with JDU-RJD-Congress in the 2015 Bihar assembly elections. He said that it is clear that there is a question mark on the political credibility of Nitish Kumar.
Firhad Hakim, a minister in the Trinamool government, also criticized Nitish Kumar. He said that the public is watching everything. Hakim said that if you try to disregard the mandate due to your political opportunism, you will get a befitting reply in democracy. Hakim said that Mamata Banerjee is one of the creators of the opposition alliance and it (the alliance) will defeat the BJP in the parliamentary elections.
It is clear from the reaction of Trinamool Congress that the party sees Nitish Kumar’s separation from the ‘India’ alliance as a political opportunism. The party believes that Nitish Kumar has taken this step to strengthen his political position.
This is not the first time in Nitish Kumar’s political career that he has changed alliance. Earlier, in 2013, he had also decided to part ways with the BJP and formed an alliance with JDU-RJD-Congress in the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections.
This move of Nitish Kumar raises the question of whether he is a political opportunist. Is he ready to join any alliance to strengthen his political position?
Nitish Kumar’s separation from the ‘India’ alliance has created a challenge for the opposition alliance. Nitish Kumar is a major political force in Bihar and without his support, the opposition alliance may find it difficult to win the elections in Bihar.
However, Trinamool Congress believes that this is not a setback for the opposition alliance. The party believes that the public will understand the political opportunism of Nitish Kumar and will respond to him.
