New Delhi, February 13, 2024: Tomorrow, in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a momentous occasion unfolds, promising a significant leap forward for India’s Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Union Minister for MSME Shri Narayan Rane is set to inaugurate a multifaceted initiative encompassing the launch of new support centres, a vibrant exhibition celebrating entrepreneurial spirit, and the empowerment of women and marginalized communities. This collective effort signifies the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive MSME ecosystem, propelling India’s economic growth and societal well-being.
At the core of this initiative lies the inauguration of three MSME Technology Centres in Kanpur, Baddi, and Imphal. These state-of-the-art hubs will become vital knowledge and resource centres, equipping MSMEs with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape. Entrepreneurs will gain access to cutting-edge equipment, receive targeted training programs, and benefit from expert guidance, propelling them towards technological advancements and enhanced productivity.
Furthermore, the inauguration of two new Extension Centres in Karimnagar and Bhavanipatna signifies a commendable effort to bridge the geographical gap and ensure support reaches even the most remote corners of the nation. These centres will act as crucial outposts, providing much-needed guidance and resources to geographically isolated entrepreneurs, fostering inclusive growth and ensuring no one is left behind.
Recognizing the diverse needs of different regions and communities, the event also witnesses the launch of a dedicated Development and Facilitation Office in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This office will offer targeted support and specialized resources, catering to the unique requirements of MSMEs in the state and fostering local economic development.
Additionally, a Nucleus Centre will be established in Ladakh, acknowledging the distinct challenges and opportunities faced by MSMEs in this remote region. This centre will play a pivotal role in nurturing entrepreneurship and unlocking the immense economic potential of Ladakh, contributing to its overall development and prosperity.
Beyond infrastructure development, the event promises a vibrant platform for showcasing the indomitable spirit of Indian entrepreneurs through a bustling exhibition. A diverse array of products from various sectors will be displayed, highlighting the talent, innovation, and resilience that power India’s economic growth. Special attention will be given to ODOP (One District One Product) goods, celebrating the unique cultural identity and economic contributions of different districts. Dedicated stalls will also be provided to KVIC, COIR Board, incubators, women entrepreneurs, and SC/ST entrepreneurs, fostering inclusion and offering them a valuable platform to connect with potential customers and expand their reach.
Further empowering women entrepreneurs, 100 toolkits will be distributed under the ODOP scheme, providing them with the necessary equipment and resources to launch and sustain their ventures, contributing to their economic independence and overall societal progress.
The event acknowledges the invaluable contribution of traditional artisans and craftspeople by featuring an experience centre dedicated to the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. This successful initiative provides comprehensive support to artisans across 18 trades, safeguarding their cultural heritage and equipping them with the skills and resources to adapt and thrive in the modern market. The experience centre will serve as a valuable platform to raise awareness about the scheme and encourage wider participation, ensuring the preservation and flourishing of India’s rich artisanal traditions.
This comprehensive initiative transcends the boundaries of individual actions and signifies a collective step towards building a robust and inclusive MSME ecosystem. The new centres, resources, and empowerment programs represent a concerted effort to foster innovation, promote regional development, and empower entrepreneurs, particularly women and those from disadvantaged communities.
As Minister Rane aptly states, “These initiatives demonstrate our firm commitment to providing comprehensive support to MSMEs across the country. By expanding our infrastructure and resources, we aim to empower entrepreneurs, unlock their full potential, and contribute significantly to India’s economic growth and social progress.”
