Ayodhya is gearing up for an extraordinary Holi celebration this year, marking the first festival of colours following the pran pratishtha ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in January.
The festivities promise to be grand, with plans to allow devotees to partake in the colourful revelry with Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. During the Holi celebrations, gulal will be lovingly applied to the idol of Lord Ram Lalla, accompanied by the offering of special delicacies such as kachori, gujiya, puri, kheer (pudding), and more.
Ahead of the celebrations, Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, expressed profound joy at the influx of devotees for the darshan of Ram Lalla. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust is preparing for a grand Holi celebration, complete with cultural activities and special Vedic rituals at the sanctum-sanctorum of the temple. Notably, devotees will have the unique opportunity to play Holi with Ram Lalla.
“This year, Holi is being celebrated grandly in reverence to Lord Ram. Just as Lord Ram took form in Ayodhya, this year, after the pran pratishtha ceremony, the way devotees flocked here for his darshan, creating a wonderful atmosphere, is truly remarkable. Just as the divine play of Lord Ram’s devotees unfolded after his pran pratishtha, similarly, this year’s Holi will be wonderful in its way,” ANI quoted Acharya Satyendra Das as saying.
The city’s mandir, including Kanak Bhawan, Dashrath Mahal, and Hanuman Garhi, will be adorned with flowers and special arrangements have been made across all mutts and ashrams for the celebration. Dashrath Mahal, where Lord Ram’s father resided in Ayodhya, holds particular significance. Classical singers will perform, and Naga Sadhus of Hanuman Ghari will join in the festivities, making this Holi a truly memorable event for devotees in Ayodhya.
