Today marks the commencement of the fourth Training Programme on Public Policy and Governance for Civil Servants of Cambodia at the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), running from March 26 to April 6, 2024. This collaborative effort, in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), aims to enhance the capacities of Cambodian civil servants.
A group of 39 senior officers from the Ministry of Inspection, Education, Youth, and Sports are actively participating in the training program, which spans locations in Mussoorie and New Delhi. Director General of NCGG, Shri V. Srinivas, highlighted the importance of embracing digital technology to elevate service delivery standards, catalyze institutional transformations, and foster closer citizen-government interactions. He emphasized India’s governance model evolution and the pivotal role of digitalization in ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective governance.
The program covers various topics, including governance paradigms, economic development, sustainable urbanization, skill enhancement, digital governance, ethical considerations, leadership principles, and gender inclusivity. Additionally, participants will engage in enlightening visits to renowned institutions such as the Smart School in Dehradun, the Forest Research Institute, and the Central Bureau of Investigation, providing firsthand exposure to administrative practices and cultural heritage.
Furthermore, NCGG, in collaboration with MEA, has previously conducted similar training initiatives for civil servants from 17 countries, including Bangladesh, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia. Dr. B. S. Bisht, serving as the Course Coordinator for Cambodia, alongside Dr. Sanjeev Sharma and Sh. Brijesh Bisht will lead the coordination and supervision efforts of the training program, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching learning experience for all participants.
