In Bihar, the recent agreement among the opposition’s INDIA bloc parties for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections assigns 26 seats to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and nine seats to the Congress. Additionally, the Left parties secure five seats, completing the distribution.
In the preceding 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress won only one seat, while both the RJD and Left parties failed to secure any in Bihar. Conversely, the NDA alliance, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United), collectively won 33 seats, with the remaining seats claimed by the undivided LJP.
Simultaneously, the BJP, JD-U, and LJP are jointly contesting the Lok Sabha polls and have finalized their seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar. The BJP will contest 17 seats, while the JD-U will contest 16 seats. Additionally, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, will contest five seats.
Moreover, the Hindustani Aawam Morcha (HAM) under Jitan Ram Manjhi and the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will each contest one seat. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, will also contest five seats.
The seven-phase Lok Sabha Elections are scheduled to commence on April 19, with the results expected to be announced on June 4.
