Alwar and Neighboring Districts to Benefit from Improved Healthcare Access
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has expanded its reach in Rajasthan with the inauguration of a new Sub-Regional Office in Alwar. This development was announced on March 9, 2024, by the Union Minister for Labour & Employment, Shri Bhupender Yadav.
The new office is expected to serve around 12 lakh beneficiaries and 24,500 employers across Alwar, Khairthal-Tijara, Kotputli-Behror, Bharatpur, and Deeg districts. This improved access to ESIC services will provide workers with better healthcare and social security under the ESI Scheme.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Yadav highlighted various government initiatives to enhance worker well-being. These include the introduction of chemotherapy and dialysis services in ESI hospitals and the prestigious “ISSA Vision Zero 2023” award received by ESIC for its commitment to workplace safety.
Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Director General of ESIC, elaborated on recent advancements within the organization. These include the introduction of a 5G ambulance service, a mobile app (AAA+), annual health checkups, and home delivery of medications and sample collection for senior citizens or those with chronic illnesses.
The ESIC scheme was first implemented in Rajasthan in 1956 and currently covers all 50 districts of the state. It provides medical care to around 15 lakh insured workers and benefits nearly 58 lakh beneficiaries.
The ESIC is a leading social security organization offering comprehensive benefits to workers across India. These benefits include medical care, and cash allowances during employment injury, sickness, and death. With a vast network of hospitals, dispensaries, and offices, ESIC plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of millions of workers and their families.
