Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured BJP’s Krishnanagar Lok Sabha candidate, Amrita Roy, of his commitment to recovering nearly ₹3,000 crore allegedly embezzled from the poor in West Bengal and seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
In a conversation with Roy, who comes from a royal background and is contesting against Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra, PM Modi pledged to explore legal avenues to repatriate the funds confiscated from corrupt individuals.
He stressed the importance of conveying this commitment to the public and vowed to take necessary actions, including legal measures, upon returning to power after the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
PM Modi also criticized the Congress for supporting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after his arrest by the ED in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise Policy. He pointed out the inconsistency in the stance of those who previously criticized AAP, accusing them of prioritizing power over national interests.
Addressing Roy’s concerns about her family being targeted as traitors by the TMC, PM Modi encouraged her to stand firm, highlighting the TMC’s inclination towards vote bank politics and baseless allegations to deflect from their own misconduct.
Expressing confidence in Roy’s victory in the upcoming elections, PM Modi advised her to draft a plan for the first 100 days in office for her constituency. He reiterated his belief that West Bengal is ripe for change, emphasizing the alleged corruption within the ruling TMC as a central theme of the BJP’s campaign in the state.
