Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly greeted during his visit to Bhutan on Friday, March 22, with a delightful Garba performance by local youngsters at his hotel in Thimphu. Dressed in traditional Gujarati attire, the performers swayed to the tunes of a song authored by PM Modi himself, exuding festive vibes.
Video footage captured the enchanting scene as the Garba performers, adorned in Ghagra-choli and Kurta Paijama, welcomed PM Modi with grace and jubilation. Following interactions with members of the Indian diaspora and locals, the performance was staged, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
The Bhutanese Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, extended a warm welcome to PM Modi, affirming the strong bond between the two nations. PM Modi’s arrival was marked by a red-carpet ceremonial welcome at the Paro airport, with the entire route to Thimphu adorned with Indian and Bhutanese flags and banners, showcasing the depth of the bilateral relationship.
Expressing their joy, members of the Indian community shared their honour in meeting PM Modi. During his visit, PM Modi is set to participate in various programs aimed at bolstering the India-Bhutan bilateral partnership. This includes the inauguration of the Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Mother and Child Hospital in Thimphu, a testament to the close collaboration between India and Bhutan for the welfare of their people.
