Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a significant National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rally named ‘Prajagalam’ (the voice of the public) in Palnadu district on Sunday evening. This marks the inaugural joint public gathering of NDA partners in Andhra Pradesh after a decade.
Accompanied by TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, Modi will share the stage for the first time with these leaders in a rally geared towards the 2024 polls. ‘Prajagalam’ serves as the first NDA election meeting in Andhra Pradesh in anticipation of the simultaneous Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha polls slated for May 13.
The event, described as a move to “oust atrocious politics” for the prosperous future of Andhra Pradesh, has garnered immense support from the TDP, Janasena, and BJP, with their respective cadres mobilizing in large numbers.
In readiness for the gathering, the TDP unveiled a distinctive logo featuring the images of Modi, Naidu, and Kalyan. Seat-sharing arrangements for both Lok Sabha and state polls were finalized by the NDA partners during a lengthy discussion convened at Naidu’s Andhra Pradesh residence in Undavalli on March 11.
Under the agreed formula, the BJP will contest six Lok Sabha and 10 assembly seats, while the TDP will vie for 17 parliamentary and 144 state seats. Janasena, led by Pawan Kalyan, will compete for two Lok Sabha and 21 assembly seats.
Naidu has already announced 128 candidates for the assembly polls, with 16 more anticipated to be revealed soon. Meanwhile, Janasena has disclosed seven candidates, with Kalyan himself contesting from the Pithapuram constituency in the assembly elections. The BJP is yet to announce its roster of candidates.
Expressing solidarity, Naidu emphasized the collective commitment of the BJP, Janasena, and TDP towards Andhra Pradesh’s progress and development under PM Modi’s leadership. The NDA partners reiterated their pledge to prioritize the state’s interests and future during discussions on seat-sharing.
According to the outlined schedule, Modi is expected to arrive at Gannavaram Airport around 4:10 pm, followed by a helicopter journey to Palnadu district, where the rally will commence in Boppudi village from 5 pm to 6 pm, after which he will proceed to Hyderabad.
