The Prime Minister embarked on a visit to Aurangabad, Bihar, marking a significant moment for the state’s development trajectory. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various projects valued at a staggering Rs 21,400 crores, encompassing vital sectors like transportation, sanitation, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
A major focus of the visit was revamping Bihar’s road network. The Prime Minister inaugurated several National Highway projects exceeding Rs 18,100 crores, including the expansion and construction of new stretches. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity between cities, reduce travel time, and unlock economic potential in the region. Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for a six-lane bridge across the Ganges, poised to become one of the nation’s longest, further streamlining north-south traffic flow and facilitating trade.
Recognizing the crucial role of railways in Bihar’s growth, the Prime Minister dedicated three operational railway projects to the nation, including the doubling of an existing line and the construction of a new one. He also laid the foundation stone for the Ara Bye Pass rail line, a significant step towards improving rail capacity and mobility in the state, fostering industrial development and creating new avenues for economic activity.
Underscoring the government’s commitment to environmental protection, the Prime Minister inaugurated twelve projects under the Namami Gange initiative. These projects, encompassing sewage treatment plants and sewerage networks, represent an investment of Rs 2,190 crore towards ensuring the Ganges’ cleanliness and promoting sustainable development practices in the region.
Beyond infrastructural development, the visit also highlighted the government’s dedication to fostering local businesses and preserving cultural heritage. The foundation stone was laid for the Unity Mall in Patna, envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility showcasing and promoting unique products and craftsmanship from various states and districts across India. This initiative aims to empower local businesses, boost exports, and create employment opportunities within the state.
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the underprivileged sections of society. He mentioned various schemes and initiatives aimed at supporting the poor, Dalits, backwards, tribals, and deprived communities, ensuring their equitable participation in Bihar’s development journey.
