The long-awaited inauguration of the Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd (HURL) fertilizer plant in Barauni, constructed for Rs 9,500 crore, marked a significant achievement. By ensuring a steady supply of fertilizers and boosting agricultural productivity, the HURL plant is poised to empower farmers, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to Bihar’s food security. The Prime Minister dedicated “Bharat Pashudhan” to the nation, a revolutionary digital database for livestock animals. This comprehensive initiative assigns a unique 12-digit ID to each animal, enabling efficient tracking and monitoring. “Bharat Pashudhan” empowers farmers by providing a robust traceability system for their livestock, facilitating disease control and ensuring better animal healthcare practices. This not only safeguards animal health and welfare but also enhances the quality and safety of livestock products, potentially opening new market opportunities for farmers.
The launch of the “1962 Farmers App” further complemented the “Bharat Pashudhan” initiative. This user-friendly mobile application grants farmers easy access to animal data and information stored within the database.
