Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticized China’s actions in Arunachal Pradesh, asserting that renaming parts of China wouldn’t grant India control over those areas. He reiterated India’s firm stance that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of the country, regardless of China’s attempts to rename places there. Singh emphasized India’s dedication to maintaining positive relations with its neighbours while cautioning against actions that challenge India’s self-respect. He also underscored India’s preparedness to defend its territory if necessary.
Singh further accused the Congress of neglecting border areas during its rule, leading to territorial losses. He reassured that India, under the NDA government, will not tolerate any encroachment on its land. Singh commended the contributions of border village residents and outlined the government’s initiatives to develop the region, including substantial investments and programs like UNNATI aimed at fostering employment and economic growth.
Additionally, Singh praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting India’s enhanced global standing and the government’s commitment to poverty alleviation and development. He highlighted the strategic significance of Arunachal Pradesh and enumerated various projects initiated by the BJP government in the state. Singh rejected the Congress’s criticisms of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as baseless.
