AAP MP Sanjay Singh emerged from Tihar Jail after six months, emphasizing the need for the struggle over the celebration. He was released on bail in the liquor scam case, following the Supreme Court’s decision on Tuesday in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy scam. The Enforcement Directorate’s non-objection facilitated his bail.
Addressing his supporters outside the jail, Singh stated, “Now is the time for perseverance, not celebration.” He highlighted the continued incarceration of senior party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendar Jain, and Manish Sisodia, expressing confidence in their eventual release.
Following his release, Singh visited the residence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to meet his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, also detained in connection with the defunct excise policy case.
His father, Dinesh Singh, expressed joy at his son’s release, considering it a significant moment for the family and the party.
Singh underscored the AAP’s resilience, reaffirming its foundation in a movement and its unwavering stance. He questioned the imprisonment of Kejriwal, Sisodia, and Jain, highlighting their dedication to providing quality education, facilitating elder citizens’ pilgrimage, and ensuring access to free water for Delhi residents.
Singh’s arrest occurred on October 4, 2023, following an ED raid on his premises linked to the Delhi excise policy-related money laundering case.
