Kota (Rajasthan), Apr 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Saturday that the BJP’s majority victories in the 2014 and 2019 elections enabled them to revoke Article 370, construct the Ram Mandir, implement the CAA, and provide 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
During the Vijay Sankalp Mahasammelan, Shah said, “You gave us a full majority in 2014 and 2019, and we used it to abolish Article 370, build the temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, implement CAA, and provide 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Assemblies.”
He added that a vote for Congress in 2019 would have turned Kota into a base for PFI. However, the electorate supported PM Modi, who ended PFI’s influence and imprisoned its members. He accused Congress of hindering development, citing the five-year delay in the Eastern Rajasthan Canal project under the Gehlot government. After the Bhajanlal Sharma government took power, the agreement for the project was signed within three months.
Amit Shah also criticized Congress, stating that the first phase of elections concluded on Friday, and the party was defeated in all seats.
“When we talk about crossing 400 seats, Congress gets nervous. They spread lies about the BJP ending reservations if it wins 400 seats. PM Modi allocated Rs 20,000 crore to 87 lakh farmers in Rajasthan through the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Three lakh women entrepreneurs were supported. Tap water was provided to 51 lakh poor households, and 2 crore people benefited from the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Toilets were constructed for 86 lakh poor households. Congress is an anti-development party,” Shah continued.
The remaining 13 seats in Rajasthan will be contested in the second phase on April 26.
The following phases will take place on May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. The 2019 general elections were also conducted in seven phases.
In 2019, the BJP won 24 out of 25 seats, while the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party’s Hanuman Beniwal won the remaining seat.
