A day after Prime Minister Modi’s comments at a rally in Rajasthan, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has sought a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss the party’s manifesto. Modi had accused Congress of potentially distributing the nation’s wealth among “infiltrators” and “those who have more children” if voted to power.
Kharge described Modi’s remarks as “hate speech,” accusing the Prime Minister of attempting to divert attention due to “panic” and “disappointment” over the first phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Kharge emphasized that the Congress manifesto does not mention the terms “Muslim” and “Hindu” and focuses on justice and equality for all.
Modi’s statements have faced criticism from various opposition parties, including AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Priyanka Chaturvedi, who called the comments misleading and divisive.
