Gourav Vallabh, recently joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on April 4, reiterated his critique of the Congress party, alleging hostility towards the nation’s wealth creators, particularly Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani.
In an interview with ANI, Vallabh disclosed advising the Congress leadership to halt their criticism of Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani after the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) cleared him of allegations made by US-based short-seller Hindenburg.
Vallabh remarked, “The Congress has developed a pattern of incessantly targeting Adani and Ambani. While with Congress, I addressed this issue in a press conference, referencing Adani. However, upon Adani’s exoneration by SEBI, I ceased making public statements about him. I even urged Congress leaders to desist from criticizing him post-SEBI’s clearance. Despite my counsel, they persisted in their critique.”
He further revealed his decision to disengage from representing the Congress in television debates or media interactions after the party declined to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir on January 22 this year.
Vallabh elaborated, “Since resigning from the Congress, I have emphasized in media interviews my urging of senior leaders in my former party to oppose opposition to ‘Sanatana Dharma’. Following the Congress’s rejection of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ invitation, I refrained from representing the Congress in television shows and debates. I advised all senior leaders to refrain from criticizing our wealth creators, who diligently build their fortunes while contributing to nation-building.”
Earlier, on April 4, Vallabh tendered his resignation from the Congress, citing discomfort with the party’s direction and inability to “raise anti-Sanatana slogans or abuse the wealth creators.” Criticizing the Congress manifesto and former party leader Chidambaram without naming him, Vallabh implied that the party’s dwindling performance in the Lok Sabha elections could be attributed to outdated ideas and ineffective leadership.
Vallabh, who contested the Rajasthan assembly elections last year from the Udaipur constituency, lost to the BJP candidate by approximately 32,000 votes.
