Voting for the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for April 19. This phase encompasses 102 constituencies across 21 states and Union Territories (UTs), according to the Election Commission’s (EC) schedule. Voting will start at 7 am and end at 5 pm.
Voters will cast their ballots in states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.
To cast your vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, voters are required to carry their voter ID cards. However, if you do not possess a voter ID, you can still cast your vote by presenting one of the following documents at the assigned polling booth:
– Passport
– Aadhaar card
– PAN card
– Driving license
– MNREGA cards
– ID cards of central and state government employees
– Pension cards with a photo
Voters must confirm that their names are included in the official voter list by the Election Commission. Follow these steps to check if your name is on the electoral roll:
1. Visit the Election Commission’s website at [voters.eci.gov.in](https://voters.eci.gov.in/) and click on “Search in Electoral Roll” at the top right.
2. Enter your state and choose your preferred language for the form.
3. Add your first name, surname, and your relative’s first name and surname.
4. Enter your date of birth and gender.
5. Select your district and assembly constituency, and enter the captcha code.
6. Click “Search.”
7. If your name is on the electoral roll, it will appear on the screen.
