DARPG Delegation Visits Bangladesh to Discuss MoU Renewal with Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration
Secretary DARPG V. Srinivas to Meet Senior Officials of the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration During 3-Day Visit
V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), will lead a four-member delegation to Bangladesh from April 28 to April 30, 2024, to discuss renewing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) in India and the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration for the 2024-2029 period. The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration and will focus on mid-career capacity-building programs in field administration for Bangladesh Civil Servants.
Since 2014, the NCGG and the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration have collaborated to provide capacity-building programs for Bangladesh Civil Servants. Through this partnership, 71 programs have been conducted, and 2,600 Bangladesh Civil Servants have attended the NCGG since 2014. The Bangladesh Government has acknowledged the significance of these training programs and expressed interest in renewing the MoU between the NCGG and the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration for another five years after it expires in 2025.
During the three-day visit, Secretary V. Srinivas will hold bilateral meetings with the Minister of Public Administration, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Director General of the Civil Services Administration Academy, Director General of the Public Administration Training Centre, Director General of the Governance Innovation Unit in the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Additional Secretary of Career Planning and Training Wing of the Ministry of Public Administration. Secretary V. Srinivas will also address the participants of the Law & Administration Courses and the faculty at the Bangladesh Civil Services Administration Academy on the topic “Institutionalization of SMART Governance to Enhance Public Service Delivery.” The Indian delegation will also engage with NCGG program alumni and visit the Ashrayan Project in Narayanganj district.
