During his rally in Maharashtra for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress, comparing it to a bitter gourd and labelling it as the root cause of ‘all problems in the country’.
Addressing the gathering in Chandrapur, where polling is set for April 19, Modi remarked, “A bitter gourd’s taste will never change even if it is fried in ghee or mixed with sugar.”
He further questioned the Congress’s involvement in various contentious issues, asking, “Who was responsible for the Partition of the country based on religion…Kashmir (issue), Naxalism? Who opposed Ram temple construction and questioned the existence of Lord Ram? Who declined the Ram temple inauguration invite?”
Modi asserted that during the Congress’s 10-year tenure out of power, his government had successfully tackled numerous national challenges. He highlighted the significant reduction in Naxal violence and accused the Congress of adopting a soft stance on terrorism for the sake of vote-bank politics. Additionally, he criticized the Congress manifesto, alleging it bore the imprint of the Muslim League.
