At an election rally in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used a football analogy to describe the NDA’s lead in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. He mentioned that the NDA-BJP alliance was ahead 2-0 after the completion of the first two phases of voting.
“Kolhapur is known as the football hub of Maharashtra. Speaking in football terms, after the second phase of voting, BJP-NDA is leading 2-0,” PM Modi said during the rally.
The prime minister criticized the Opposition’s INDIA bloc, accusing them of “anti-nationalism” and “politics of hatred.” He condemned the actions of DMK, an ally of the Congress, for allegedly disrespecting Sanatana Dharma and aligning with the opposition in Maharashtra. Modi also criticized the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) for supporting the DMK.
PM Modi disapproved of the INDIA bloc’s approach to policies such as the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony. He accused them of being driven by vote-bank politics and an agenda focused on forming a government and making money.
The prime minister also highlighted his government’s achievements, such as establishing a Ministry of Cooperation and initiatives to empower women through Self-Help Groups. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the country’s citizens.
