President Droupadi Murmu expressed condolences for the tragic loss of life in a school bus accident in Haryana’s Mahendragarh district. The accident, which occurred on Thursday, claimed the lives of at least six children and left 15 others injured. The accident took place when a school bus belonging to GL Public School in Kanina overturned while attempting to overtake a vehicle in Unhani village.
In response to the incident, State Education Minister Seema Trikha issued a show cause notice to the school. Trikha emphasized the need for all private schools to ensure that their vehicles comply with transport rules and norms.
The tragic accident has highlighted lapses in safety measures, with reports indicating that the bus was overspeeding and the driver may have been intoxicated. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, and further investigations are ongoing.
President Murmu extended her prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured children and expressed solidarity with the affected families. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured that strict action would be taken against those found guilty in the probe. Meanwhile, the Haryana government has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the cause and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
