Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Samajwadi Party on Sunday, accusing it of defaming Mirzapur and turning Uttar Pradesh and Purvanchal into a “safe hideout” for the mafia.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that a Uniform Civil Code for the entire country would be implemented within the next five years after extensive consultations with all stakeholders if the BJP returns to power. “Punjab turned into ‘den of corruption’, Arvind Kejriwal made it ‘ATM of corruption’,” he said.
