During a joint roadshow, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann rallied voters to support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on May 25. Accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Mann stressed the importance of endorsing AAP candidates during the roadshow in the Moti Nagar and Uttam Nagar areas.
Addressing the gathered crowd, Kejriwal made a plea for backing, highlighting that opting for the broom symbol (AAP’s emblem) could potentially prevent his return to jail, referencing ongoing legal challenges. He emphasized the electorate’s influence in determining the election outcome.
Mann echoed Kejriwal’s call, urging Delhi voters to cast their votes decisively on May 25. He asserted that a strong mandate would shield Kejriwal from potential legal hurdles and predicted victory for the AAP-India alliance.
In light of recent legal proceedings, Kejriwal recounted his experiences and alleged mistreatment during his detention, connecting it to his advocacy for the people of Delhi. He cautioned against the adverse consequences of his potential re-incarceration, citing potential disruptions to government services.
Kejriwal’s bail, granted by the Supreme Court until June 1, permits him to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls but imposes restrictions on his official duties.
As Delhi prepares to vote for all seven Parliamentary seats on May 25, the joint appeal for support from Kejriwal and Mann underscores the significance of the upcoming elections for the AAP.
