Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, three British-era laws have been reformed to ensure speedy justice for all. The new laws require forensic team visits for offences with punishments of seven years or more, increasing the demand for forensic experts, which NFSU will address.
NFSU has opened campuses in nine states and aims to expand to 16, creating trained manpower and improving crime-solving efficiency and conviction rates. The Forensic Science University also bolsters forensic infrastructure, benefiting police and judicial officers in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted that having a laboratory, university, and training institute on the same campus will simplify training for both instructors and trainees. The Government of India will ensure good training arrangements in forensic science, further strengthening the criminal justice system in Haryana.
