A video capturing an unexpected interaction between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of the new Nalanda University campus in Rajgir, Bihar, has gone viral. In the footage shared by PTI, Nitish Kumar is seen suddenly grabbing PM Modi’s hand to check his index finger for the indelible vote ink, catching the Prime Minister by surprise. Kumar then showed his ink-marked finger to Modi, prompting curiosity and amusement among those present.
Earlier that day, PM Modi inaugurated the newly built campus of Nalanda University, a modern homage to the ancient university established around 1600 years ago, known as one of the world’s first residential universities. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar, and Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha.
The new Nalanda University campus aims to replicate the historical significance and architectural grandeur of its ancient predecessor, honouring its legacy as a centre of learning and scholarship.
