The polling for Samastipur was held in Phase 4 on May 13.
The main candidates for the 2024 General Elections in Samastipur were Shambhavi (LJPRV) and Sunny Hazari (Congress).
As per the latest vote-counting trends, LJPRV’s Shambhavi has won the Samastipur seat.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Samastipur seat was won by LJP candidate Ramchandra Paswan, with Congress candidate Dr Ashok Kumar finishing in second place.
In the 2014 General Elections, the Samastipur constituency was also won by LJP candidate Ram Chandra Paswan, with Congress candidate Dr. Ashok Kumar as the runner-up.
The Samastipur parliamentary constituency includes the assembly seats of Kusheshwar Asthan (SC), Hayaghat, Kalyanpur (SC), Warisnagar, Samastipur, and Rosera (SC).
Samastipur is one of the Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, 40 seats in Bihar were contested across seven phases from April 19 to June 1.
In Bihar’s ruling alliance, NDA, the BJP contested 17 seats, JD(U) 16 seats, LJP (Ram Vilas) 5 seats, and HAM and RLM one seat each.
Under the INDIA parties’ seat-sharing agreement in Bihar, Congress fielded candidates in 9 seats, RJD in 23, CPI(ML) Liberation in 3, VIP in 3, CPI in 1, and CPI(M) in 1.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA swept Bihar, winning 39 out of 40 seats. The BJP won 17 seats, JD(U) 16, and LJP 6. The RJD did not win any seats, while Congress won 1. In the 2014 elections, the BJP won 22 seats, LJP 6, Congress 2, JD(U) 2, RJD 4, RLSP 3, and NCP 1.
