In anticipation of Narendra Modi’s swearing-in as Prime Minister on Sunday, authorities have enacted extensive security protocols throughout Delhi, including prohibitory orders and a no-fly zone declaration.
President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Modi and his cabinet ministers at 7:15 PM on Sunday at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

- Aerial Restrictions: The advisory prohibits the operation of sub-conventional aerial platforms to thwart threats from criminal and anti-social elements or terrorists during the oath ceremony.

Following a meeting of the NDA’s newly elected MPs in Parliament’s central hall, Modi was elected as the NDA’s Parliamentary leader. Later, he met President Murmu to stake his claim to form the government. President Murmu appointed Modi as the prime minister-designate after BJP president J P Nadda handed her a letter confirming Modi’s election as the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party.
The BJP won 240 seats, a reduction from its 2019 tally of 303. The Congress made significant gains, winning 99 seats. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 293 seats, while the INDIA bloc won 234 seats.
