Today, on July 10, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the third phase of the JP Ganga Pathway, popularly known as the Marine Drive of Patna. This new 4.5 km stretch extends the already operational 12.5 km section from Digha to Gaighat, reaching Patna Ghat.
The JP Ganga Pathway is a crucial infrastructure project designed to ease the traffic congestion on the single-lane Ashok Rajpath, where road expansion is impractical due to dense construction on both sides.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar emphasized the benefits of the project, It will be helpful for people to travel to Patna after the construction is completed. It will save people’s time and be convenient for someone coming from the Northern side.
Third Phase Construction of Marine Drive
This four-lane road runs parallel to Ashok Rajpath along the Ganga River, linking Digha in the west to Malsalami in the east. The completion of the third phase will enhance access to Patna Sahib Gurudwara via Kangan Ghat. While the approach road at Kangan Ghat is complete and operational, the road at Patna Ghat, which will connect to Ashok Rajpath, is still under construction.
