Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reaffirmed the Central Government’s dedication to assisting Chhattisgarh in the interest of farmers and the agricultural sector. During a meeting in New Delhi, Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam met with Union Minister Chouhan at Krishi Bhavan as part of ongoing state-wise discussions aimed at rapid agricultural progress.
The discussions focused on promoting pulses, oilseeds, horticulture, and other agricultural sectors in Chhattisgarh. Union Minister Chouhan emphasized the priority given to farmers’ interests under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, assuring continued support from the Central Government to Chhattisgarh.
Key schemes and programs of the Agriculture Ministry, such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, and the Oil Palm Mission, were discussed. Union Minister Chouhan assured Chhattisgarh Minister Netam that the Central and State governments would collaborate to address any challenges faced by farmers. He highlighted the potential for promoting maize and soybean cultivation in Chhattisgarh and ensured the availability of necessary inputs like fertilizers and seeds for the Kharif season.
The meeting was also attended by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Secretary Shri Sanjeev Chopra and senior officials from the Central and State Agriculture and Horticulture departments.
