The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) marked its 170th Annual Day today at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, commemorating a steadfast commitment to serving the nation.
The event was honored by Shri Manohar Lal, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), as the Chief Guest. Shri Tokhan Sahu, Minister of State, MoHUA, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, alongside Shri Anurag Jain, Secretary, MoHUA, and other dignitaries, CPWD officers, and staff from across the country.
Shri Manohar Lal praised the CPWD fraternity for their dedication over the years, emphasizing their ability to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of the nation. He highlighted CPWD’s role in major national projects, underscoring its continued relevance in modern times.
Shri Tokhan Sahu congratulated CPWD on its 170th Annual Day, acknowledging its remarkable transformation over the last decade. He cited the construction of the New Parliament as a testament to CPWD’s success and achievements.
Shri Anurag Jain commended CPWD’s contributions and urged the department to actively participate in building a New India. He emphasized the importance of innovation and modernization in infrastructure development for economic growth.
Shri Rajesh Kumar Kaushal, Director General, CPWD, reflected on the department’s progress in innovation, project delivery, and human resource management. He highlighted CPWD’s achievements in adopting new technologies and completing projects efficiently.
The celebrations included a short film showcasing CPWD’s history and achievements, as well as the launch of several technical publications and e-NIRMIT ERP modules. CPWD Director General Medals, Commendation Certificates, and Certificates of Merit were also conferred to recognize outstanding performers and projects.
Additionally, a Technical Session and cultural program ‘Jhankar’ were held as part of the CPWD Annual Day celebrations, reflecting the department’s diverse engagements and contributions.
