Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the visionary Union Budget 2024-25, which aims to open new avenues for the welfare of farmers, the poor, youth, and women.
Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the budget’s strong focus on employment, skilling, MSMEs, and the middle class. He emphasized that the ambitious initiatives and incentives laid out in the budget are set to transform India’s socio-economic landscape.
The Union Minister pointed out that the Prime Minister’s package of five schemes and initiatives demonstrates the government’s commitment to creating opportunities for 4.1 crore youth over the next five years, supported by a central outlay of Rs. 2 lakh crore. This substantial investment highlights the government’s dedication to enhancing education, employment, and skilling, with Rs. 1.48 lakh crore specifically allocated for these purposes.
Dr. Mandaviya stressed that the Union Budget 2024-25 will be crucial in generating more employment opportunities for youth, skilling the labor force, and facilitating ease of doing business. He mentioned that initiatives like the Employment Linked Incentive Schemes and significant investments in education and skilling are designed to create numerous job opportunities across various sectors.
The Union Minister also noted that by incentivizing first-time employees and supporting both employees and employers, the government aims to integrate more individuals into the formal workforce. Moreover, the integration of the e-shram portal with other welfare schemes and the revamping of the Shram Suvidha and Samadhan portals will simplify compliance procedures, enhancing ease of doing business for industry and trade.
Dr. Mandaviya expressed confidence that these measures, along with focused efforts to increase women’s participation in the workforce and support for MSMEs, will lead to a more dynamic and skilled labor force, ultimately driving economic growth and development.
