Srinagar: In response to a recent deadly encounter in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, a significant crackdown on the terror network has been launched by the police. This operation follows the tragic loss of four army personnel, including an officer, on Monday night.
Authorities report that numerous overground workers and supporters of terrorist activities have been apprehended. The ongoing crackdown has intensified, with large-scale search operations and area domination efforts by the army and paramilitary forces in the Desa region of Doda.
The initial exchange of fire occurred in Kalaan Bhata late last night, followed by more gunfire near Panchan Bhata at around 2 AM. The encounter in the Desa forest area resulted in the death of four brave soldiers: Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra, and Sepoy Ajay.
This incident marks the second major encounter in the Jammu region within a week. Previously, five soldiers were killed in an attack in Kathua. In that attack, coordinated strikes on two trucks carrying at least 12 troops resulted in five deaths and several injuries. The terrorists employed grenades and, alarmingly, used armour-piercing bullets and an M4 assault rifle in the attack.
The authorities are determined to dismantle the terror network in the region, with continuous efforts and intensified operations in place to prevent further such incidents.
