Enhancing modern road connectivity in Goa, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated a 6-lane access-controlled road project today. This 7 km stretch, costing ₹1183 crore, links Manohar International Airport to Dhargal on NH-166S. The event was attended by Goa’s Chief Minister, Shri Pramod Sawant, Union MoS Shri Shripad Naiki, MP Rajya Sabha Shri Sadanand Tanavade, MLAs, and senior officials.
This new road promises to enhance connectivity to Manohar International Airport, ensuring faster and more convenient travel. The project is expected to boost tourism, improve multi-modal connectivity, and lower logistics costs. It will also lead to smoother and safer traffic flow, saving fuel and reducing travel time, ultimately fostering socio-economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for local residents.
During the event, Shri Nitin Gadkari also announced the construction of a 45 km bypass from Wadgaon to the Karnataka border at a cost of ₹3500 crore. Additionally, he revealed plans for a 52 km four-lane project for the Panaji-Belgaum section of NH-748, estimated to cost ₹4000 crore.
