In a recent administrative reshuffle, President Droupadi Murmu has appointed new governors in nine states and a new Lieutenant Governor for Puducherry.
Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, the former Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly, is now the Governor of Rajasthan, while Jishnu Dev Varma, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, has been appointed Governor of Telangana.
Om Prakash Mathur, a former Rajya Sabha MP, will serve as the Governor of Sikkim. Santosh Kumar Gangwar, a former Union Minister, has been appointed Governor of Jharkhand, and Ramen Deka, a former Lok Sabha MP from Assam, is now the Governor of Chhattisgarh.
CH Vijayashankar, a former Karnataka Minister, takes on the role of Governor of Meghalaya. CP Radhakrishnan, who was previously the Governor of Jharkhand, has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra.
Gulab Chand Kataria, previously the Governor of Assam, is now the Governor of Punjab and the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Lakshman Prasad Acharya, formerly the Governor of Sikkim, has been appointed as the Governor of Assam with additional responsibilities as the Governor of Manipur.
Additionally, former IAS officer K Kailashnathan has been named the new Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
