Trainee IAS Officer Puja Khedkar’s Audi car was seized by the Pune Traffic Police due to multiple violations, including the illegal use of a red and blue beacon, an improper VIP number plate, and an unauthorized ‘Maharashtra Government’ insignia.
Upon receiving a notice, Khedkar’s family driver handed over the car keys to the Chatushringi traffic police station. The vehicle had accumulated Rs 26,000 in fines for 21 traffic violations. The required documents have not yet been submitted to the traffic department.
Khedkar, aged 34 and part of the Maharashtra cadre, faces allegations of misuse of power, aggressive behavior, and irregularities in her UPSC selection. She is accused of demanding special privileges and using a private Audi car with government insignia and a beacon light, which is not typically allowed for probationary officers.
Concerns have also been raised about her eligibility for disability and OBC quotas, with claims that she misrepresented her family’s financial status and visual impairment to gain these benefits. Additionally, reports suggest she displayed aggressive behavior toward colleagues and attempted to interfere in police matters.
The central government has initiated a probe into these allegations, which may lead to her termination if found guilty.
