Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, joined a significant plantation drive titled “Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam” in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, other state ministers, and senior officials.
In his address, Shri Bhupender Yadav highlighted that the Prime Minister initiated the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan” to protect the environment, urging all citizens to participate. He mentioned the ongoing national campaign to plant 140 crore trees, emphasizing the duty to honor Mother Nature by contributing to a greener earth. Shri Yadav praised Madhya Pradesh’s efforts in the tree plantation initiative and commended Indore’s campaign to become green alongside its Clean Indore mission.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, in his speech, noted Indore and Ujjain’s historical connection to environmental significance, mentioning that Maa Kshipra originates from Indore, a city known for being the source of seven rivers. He expressed confidence that Indore would excel as both a green and clean city.
State Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya pledged to increase Indore’s green coverage. He outlined plans to plant 51 lakh trees and emphasized the importance of their conservation, noting the involvement of various societies and organizations in these efforts.
During the tree plantation program under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav planted a banyan tree in memory of his mother, Late Smt. Lilabai Shri Poonamchand ji Yadav. Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav planted a mango tree in memory of his mother, Mrs. Santara Yadav, and Urban Development and Housing Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya planted a mango tree in memory of his mother, Ayodhya Devi Vijayvargiya.
