In a recent address, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized the importance of transcending political divides to support national developmental projects. Speaking in Delhi, Dr. Singh, who holds multiple key positions including Minister of State for Science & Technology, highlighted that the initiatives led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are designed to benefit all citizens, irrespective of political affiliations. He encouraged public participation in providing suggestions for the improvement and execution of these projects, assuring that the administration would act on constructive feedback.
Dr. Singh, after being honored for his third consecutive win in the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda constituency, pointed out that projects like the Devika River Rejuvenation initiative serve the entire community. He urged the public to see these projects as collective assets that will benefit future generations.
He also spoke about the promotion of Udhampur’s renowned “kaladi” cheese under the One District One Product scheme, urging the local Chamber of Commerce to aid in its branding. Additionally, he noted the ongoing efforts to harness lavender cultivation in the Dudu-Basantgarh area as part of the Aroma Mission, which started in Bhaderwah. This initiative, along with the start-ups from the Purple and White Revolutions, has created new self-employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.
Dr. Singh further highlighted Udhampur’s potential for developing its dairy products into recognized brands within the new industrial estate. He called on the media and society to raise awareness about these local products. Emphasizing the untapped natural resources of Udhampur, Dr. Singh asserted that their development could significantly contribute to India’s economic growth.
