At the 77th Foundation Day Celebrations of Hansraj College, University of Delhi, Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted the critical need for youth to step out of traditional paths and explore new opportunities. He asserted that the “commercialisation of coaching and education is a hindrance to growth in any nation.”
Shri Dhankhar stressed that education should blend modern scientific knowledge with traditional Indian values. “Education is the most impactful transformative mechanism that brings about equality and mitigates inequities,” he said, emphasizing that focusing on education is fundamental to human growth.
Addressing concerns over the “weaponisation of disruption and disturbance in Parliament,” Shri Dhankhar urged the youth to remain vigilant, always siding with truth, conscience, and nationalism. He underscored that Parliament is a forum for debate, deliberation, and discussion, where slogans and indiscipline have no place.
Reflecting on India’s economic progress, Shri Dhankhar encouraged the youth to look beyond traditional government jobs, highlighting the current ecosystem that fosters potential and aspirations. He celebrated the new opportunities for self-employment and urged the youth to be well-versed with government policies on employment and skill promotion. He emphasized the vast employment potential in disruptive technologies like green hydrogen, space science, and artificial intelligence.
Shri Dhankhar called for quality education tailored to the needs of the 21st century, nurturing critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills among students, preparing them to navigate modern challenges effectively.
He urged youth to amplify their voices using digital platforms and social media, raising awareness on critical issues and mobilizing communities towards a common vision. Recognizing their role as pivotal stakeholders in governance, Shri Dhankhar encouraged the youth to challenge the status quo and champion growth-centric causes, fostering innovation and unleashing entrepreneurial spirit.
