Residents of Bihar are set to experience high-speed travel with the upcoming bullet train project. The train will pass through several districts, including the state capital, Patna, with stations being planned across multiple locations. Preparations are already in progress, and a 60 km long elevated railway track will be constructed in Patna district. The route has been finalized, as per recent reports. This development is part of National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited’s Delhi-Varanasi-Patna-Howrah-Kolkata high-speed rail corridor plan.
In Bihar, the bullet train will traverse five key districts: Buxar, Arrah, Jehanabad, Patna, and Gaya, with an operating speed of 350 km per hour. Each of these districts will host a station. In the first phase, stations will be built in Buxar, Patna, and Gaya, while Arrah and Jehanabad will see their stations constructed in the second phase.
Reports indicate that 135.06 hectares of land in Patna district will be acquired for the elevated track and station, which will cover a 60 km stretch.
The track in Patna district will run through 58 villages, featuring an elevated structure with a 61 km road being developed beneath it. The bullet train will connect major hubs like Delhi and Kolkata, passing through key locations such as Varanasi, Buxar, Patna, and Howrah, marking a significant leap in Bihar’s infrastructure and connectivity.
