Sources have reported that a diary discovered near the body of the young doctor who was tragically murdered at RG Kar Hospital contained her aspirations and personal reflections. The diary, which was found on August 9 in the seminar room where the crime occurred, included her ambitions of earning a gold medal and working at prestigious medical institutions. Some pages of the diary were missing, but what remained offered insights into her dreams, preferences, and deep affection for her family.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), now overseeing the case, has acquired the diary and is consulting handwriting experts to verify its authenticity. The doctor’s family confirmed her habit of maintaining a diary.
The diary detailed her desire to excel in the medical field, listing hospitals she hoped to work at and her goal of pursuing an MD. It also reflected her concern for her parents’ happiness.
The victim had reportedly been troubled by her academic and professional situation, expressing doubts about her future amid allegations of misconduct at her medical college. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the college, is under investigation by both the state police and the CBI, marking his fifth day of questioning by the agency.
The case has sparked significant upheaval within the medical community and has now reached the Supreme Court. The Court is considering a national safety protocol for doctors and has urged striking medical staff to return to work, though they have indicated they will continue their protests until their demands are addressed.
